New Year's Concert

New Year's Concert with Ensemble Storstrøm and soprano Dénise Beck. On Friday, January 23 at 4:00 PM, the new year will be ushered in this year with a musical fireworks display featuring the Danish-German star soprano Dénise Beck. She is known for her radiant tone and great artistic range, and when she performs with Ensemble Storstrøm's 8 musicians, it will be a feast of musical delicacies, Lieder, opera arias, and champagne! The program kicks off with full vigor with Bernstein's Overture to the operetta Candide, featuring classical highlights from, among others, Schubert, and a couple of musical film gems to spark the imagination. Dénise Beck lives daily in Berlin but has the whole world as her stage. She often performs at the Opera in Copenhagen but is also a regular guest at the major houses in Vienna, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Oslo, and Tokyo. The corks pop during the intermission – where we wish each other a Happy New Year with a glass of bubbles.
