John Stævngaard from Væggerløse has walked far on several pilgrimage routes in France, Spain, and Greece. He walked the 800 kilometers on the 'Camino Frances' from southern France to the pilgrimage capital Santiago de Compostela in Spain in 30 days with a full pack on his back. The afternoon's story revolves around the question: 'Why walk 800 kilometers in Spain?' and what it requires in terms of preparation, planning, and training. John Stævngaard will talk about the 'Camino Ingles', 'Camino Muxia-Finesterre', 'Camino del Norte', as well as a hike in Greece in the closed monastic community on Mount Athos.
